Students in the sixth, seventh and eighth grades are welcome to join us Wednesday nights for IGNITE. . Throughout the year we also have special events. Activities that have occurred in the past include: midnight bowling, snow tubing, community service projects, fall kick-off and a summer camp retreat. To encourage further growth in the students walk we also invite them to attend our Youth Bible Fellowship on Sunday mornings at 8:45 AM. This ministry is designed for pre-kindergarten children ages 3 to 5 and is held on Tuesday mornings from 9:15 to 11:15 during the months of October through early May. They called a returning missionary by the name Rev. Robert V. Dyer, Jr. to pastor the ministry. In August 1976 a small prayer group, meeting in a private home, organized the structure of the Shawnee Baptist Church. After negotiating with the Lenape School District the group was permitted to begin public worship services in Shawnee High School in January 1977. While meeting in the high school, weekly Prayer and Bible Studies met in the parsonage. This ministry is designed for children in Kindergarten through sixth grade and is held on Wednesday evenings from 6:45 to 8:45 during the months of October through early May. Children involved with the Awana program will learn Bible verses and stories, play games, and sing. Special activities include Olympics, Bible quizzing, and the Grand Prix Race.
